Nathan Smith
Front-End Developer — Viewzi
Nathan Smith is a goofy guy who works as a front-end developer at Viewzi.com — a new way to look at search. He has been building Websites since late last century, and enjoys hand-coding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. When not elbow-deep in code, he dabbles in design and information architecture. A proponent of open source, he is co-author of Textpattern Solutions (friends of ED, 2007), a book on PHP-driven content management. He has also written for online and paper publications such as Adobe Developer Center, Digital Web, and .net magazine.
In the past, he worked as a consultant on large-scale transactional sites for various clients, and was an in-house designer at a Fortune 50 company. Off the clock, he is wrapping up a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary via correspondence. He is the founder of the Godbit Project, a community resource aimed at helping churches and ministries make better use of the Web. He is also the creator of the 960 Grid System, a lightweight framework for sketching, designing, and coding page layouts. Friends and family have described him as mildly amusing, but in reality he is somewhat dull (just kidding).
