Ethan Marcotte has been working and designing online for over a decade. He recently joined Airbag Industries, a California-based studio that specializes in full-service web design and strategy. Prior to joining Airbag, Ethan was the creative lead and founder of Vertua Studios, a Boston-area design shop that collaborated with such well-respected brands as Harvard University and New York Magazine.

Most recently, Ethan has contributed to Web Standards Creativity (friends of ED, 2007), and is a technical editor at A List Apart magazine. He was also the technical editor for the second edition of Designing With Web Standards (New Riders, 2006) and the first edition of Bulletproof Web Design (New Riders, 2005). He has been a featured speaker at Web Design World, SXSW Interactive, and An Event Apart.

Ethan has a thing for any combination of caffeine, Photoshop, angle brackets, and loud music. He would also like to be an unstoppable robot ninja when he grows up.
